The Lady Ram field hockey team opened the RHS fall season today with a big win against the Northwood Gladiators.

The ladies started strong spending most of the first half in our offensive zone.  Senior captain, and team leader Megan Lang drove the Rams into the lead early in the 2nd half with the team's first goal off a strong assist from sophomore Korbyn Carleton.  About 10 minutes later the Rams lengthened their lead on a great post deflection from junior Vasilia Hangemanole on a cross goal pass from Megan Lang.

The Rams take the field again Tuesday against Rockville rivals Richard Montgomery.  Come out to the stadium at 3:30 to support the Rams.

TRYOUT INFORMATION
There are major changes to the preseason tryout schedule this year.  The county has eliminated the standard two a days, and replaced them with 3 hour daily practices and a couple one hour walk through.  Please read the schedule below carefully to ensure attendance at every session.
  - Tryouts begin SATURDAY, AUGUST 11th.  All tryout dates are MANDATORY.

Week One

SATURDAY 8/11
  - paperwork collection from 8am - 9am -- EVERYONE MUST be at Rock Creek Valley Elementary before 9am AND have all paperwork completed and submitted in order to participate.
paperwork - physical, medical card, student-parent contract can all be accessed from the internet - go to the RHS website, click on athletics and then forms
  - practice - 9am - noon at Rock Creek Valley Elementary
immediately after practice, at noon, we will all return to RHS to watch a mandatory, county issued safety video.  The video will last between 30-45 minutes.
MONDAY 8/13 - TUESDAY 8/14
  - practice 9am - noon at Rock Creek Valley Elementary
WEDNESDAY 8/15
  - one hour walk through -  at Rockville High School
  - scrimmage @
THURSDAY 8/16 - SATURDAY 8/18

Week Two

teachers go back to work this week so we will begin the regular season practice schedule - 3pm - 5pm at Rock Creek Valley
