Hi all, while the weather can be tough and unpredictable during the Fall season, it is something we need to work through and around, which means communication and flexibility.  We may change a tryout/practice time to 6:30am to beat the heat (heat index over 105 per MCPS rules) and storms, for example, or move locations. Rain wont typically stop us, but lightning will. The first place you will find changes is on our Twitter page @RHSGirlsSoccer5.  Next will be group text messages.  Most important, if you do not hear from me, or see anything on Twitter, there are no changes.  Thank you!

Online registration for participation in fall soccer is scheduled to go live Monday July 12 sometime during the day.   If your student wishes to participate in what will be the greatest season ever for RHS, you MUST register them via ParentVue. 

 

All students need a current sports physical (MCPS form SR-8 with Covid supplement) to participate.  Students cannot start participating until the registration process is finished. 

 

Physicals should be submitted online during the registration process. 

 

This is the only physical form accepted by MCPS for participation in high school sports.

We are excited to see all previous and new to RHS soccer players out on August 11, 2021 for the first day of the Fall 2021 LIVE season!  Participation is mandatory from August 11 through the end of the season. Location and time TBD. Be sure to get your physicals up to date and register as soon as the online system opens.  See you in August!

Position Purpose/Summary: Be a strong leader by example (one of the hardest workers on the team, displaying a high level of commitment, focus, intensity, attitude, and effort) a strong vocal leader with good communication skills (one who will encourage, support, and positively hold all teammates accountable).

The primary purpose of the TWO TEAM CAPTAINS will be to positively influence teammates on-and-off the field. The team captain selection is NOT a popularity contest, but a selection of 2 leaders, regardless of class. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The TEAM CAPTAIN will be expected to:
• Be on time to all team practices and team functions (at least 15 minutes early), and run warm-up/cool-down at practice and games
• Promote a positive attitude and positive team interactions 
• Provide a positive role model concerning commitment, intensity, confidence, response to mistakes, composure, hustle, and a “team first” focus,
• Help settle team conflicts and be willing to confront and hold teammates accountable for their on-and-off field behaviors,
• Work closely with and be the “point-person” for the head coach,
• Encourage and support all teammates,
• Lead the team throughout the season (in good and bad times),

Vote for 3 players in order and those players will be scored based on the following:

5 points for a 1^st place vote, 3 points for a 2^nd place vote and 1 point for a 3^rd place vote.
